Republic of Yemen

Under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, King of Bahrain, proceeding from the humanitarian ties between the different peoples of the world, and out of the keenness of His Majesty the King to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people under the difficult circumstances they are going through, RCO formed the National Committee for Relief of Brethren in Yemen in 2015 to help those affected by the war going on in several provinces. The Bahraini aid was as follows:

First Batch of Aid

Under the program aiming to restore hope to the Yemeni people, RCO dispatched the first shipment of humanitarian relief to Yemen. Containing 910 tons of medical supplies, food, water and tents, it is considered the largest relief shipment sent to the Yemeni people who are in dire need of it. The shipment’s timing and size reflect the keenness of His Majesty the King to alleviate the suffering of the people of Yemen during the holy month of Ramadan. The shipment was delivered to the UN Relief Agency and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre at Djibouti seaport under the Hope Campaign for Yemeni brothers (Humanity without Borders) to be distributed as soon as possible to the largest number of people across Yemen.

Second Batch of Aid

To continue to support our brothers in Yemen and alleviate their suffering, a delegation from RCO delivered the second shipment of relief assistance to the Yemeni people on August 14, 2015. The shipment was delivered by Aden International Airport to contribute to the provision of basic needs of medical and relief materials in that important phase after the liberation of Aden and several provinces in Yemen. That shipment was one of the first shipments to arrive in Aden after its liberation, and it included medical materials commensurate with the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
Moreover, the delegation made a field visit to Aden to get a picture of the nature of damage to buildings, vital facilities and houses caused by the war.

Third Batch of Aid

To continue implementing the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to support our brothers in Yemen and to within the Kingdom of Bahrain participation in the ‘Return of Hope’ program to the Yemeni people, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of RCO’s Board of Trustees, HRH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, delivered the third aid shipment to the Yemeni people on October 2015. It was delivered to the Arab Coalition leadership and it comprised of essential food and materials to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
